ANTHROPOCENE was conceived with the precise intent to promote art projects with subjects as safeguarding our environment at their centre, based on the concept of “humans and nature in harmony”: art as inspiration and awareness.
With this Open Call we intend to select art projects to set up exhibits, instalments and contemporary art performances in exhibition on our Art Boat at the Marina di Sant’Elena in Venice.
This call is open to artists, to photographers and to national and international designers, who can present us their project individually or in multidisciplinary groups
The exhibit will take place between the 21st of April and the 5th of November 2019 included.
The exhibit of the chosen artist will be hosted on board of the first floating art gallery.
A 30-metre caique that, throughout the duration of the Venice Biennale, will host exclusive events and artists. The floating art gallery will harbour at the Marina di Sant’Elena next to the gardens of the Biennale from May till October. In a period in which 615,000 visitors are expected.
ANTHROPOCENE will promote the artworks that are connected to the theme of “humans and nature in harmony: act on the present for a better future”. From an ecologically sustainable perspective the project of the artist must reflect on ways humans and nature interact. A world that is at risk of disappearing as the result of degeneration and pollution often determined by the expansion of urban areas that dominate over these beautiful perspectives.
ANTHROPOCENE is part of the eco-friendly events promoted and designed in the creative space of bArt and Moving Art. The project’s aim is to promote environmental concerns, nature, culture and scenery as its cardinal points.
ANTHROPOCENE wants to be a place where contemporary art and landscape can meet, where creativity becomes instrumental in discovering a territory, a moment of deep contemplation on the themes of ecological sustainability and the environment. Besides raising awareness with the potential visitors the event wishes to contribute to strengthen the connection between art, environment and new generations.
Moving Art is the first floating art gallery. A 30-metre caique that, throughout the duration of the Venice Biennale, will host exclusive events and artists. The floating art gallery will harbour at the Marina di Sant’Elena next to the gardens of the Biennale from May till October. In a period in which 615,000 visitors are expected.
The chosen projects for the call on the theme of ANTHROPOCENE will be hosted on the Moving Art Gallery, among scenery of rare beauty, between the sea and the lagoon, inside a magnificent frame of uncontaminated and magnetic nature.
